Since both incidents occurred near Zhongnanhai, some netizens speculated that the collision was a deliberate retaliation. According to a tweet by X platform Luo Jiang, at about 20:30 on the evening of March 26, a car traveling from Hebei to Beijing collided with vehicles and pedestrians on the road. It originated from Zhang Zizhong Road in Beijing’s Dongcheng District and crashed into Kuan Street, hitting more than 10 vehicles. Authorities dispatched nine ambulances to send affected people to hospitals. Since the incident occurred near Zhongnanhai, Beijing, the Chinese government once again implemented public opinion control and prohibited the dissemination of relevant information to the outside world. The exact number of casualties in the entire incident is unknown.
The tweet also revealed that the driver was suspected of having a vendetta against society, and said, “I don’t know how much injustice has been done to me. It’s the government that turns left when I go out! To innocent people.” Don’t kill indiscriminately!”
Another person on nine ambulances came to pick up the people. The incident occurred at the same location where a man was hit by a car at a junction in Beijing a few days earlier, less than a kilometer from a previous accident. Similar incidents have previously occurred in Taizhou, Zhejiang and Shenyang, Liaoning. On the evening of March 19, a car is said to have hit more than 20 electric motorcycles and bicycles in Beijing. According to the Central News Agency, the culprit was a 21-year-old man. Deaths and injuries occurred during the escape. The incident resulted in one death, one serious injury, 12 people were hospitalized for treatment, and four people were released. Some people who witnessed the incident said that the collision occurred from Dyanmen East Street, and some people at the scene shouted something like “social revenge”.
