Smartphone 360 ​​Service, a subsidiary of Counterpoint Research Company, released the “Generative AI Smartphone Shipments and Insights” report, predicting that next year will be a major turning point for generative AI smartphones.

The report shows that generic AI smart phones will account for 3% of the total smart phone market in 2023, and shipments are expected to exceed 100 million units in 2024, doubling their share. By 2027, shipments are expected to reach 522 million units, accounting for 40%, equivalent to a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 83%.

Counterpoint defines generic AI smart machines as a type of AI smart machine that uses generic AI to generate original content rather than simply providing pre-programmed responses or performing pre-determined tasks.

Counterpoint believes that the short-term industry scenario of generic AI smart machines is that the development path of OEM manufacturers will touch four major areas: information supply, image generation, real-time translation, and personal assistant applications.
