In the video, hooded thieves can be seen breaking into a Mountain Mike’s Pizzeria in Rancho Santa Margarita. The thieves trying to use power tools to pry open the owner’s door broke the glass door with a crowbar. run straight to the officeInsuranceAlmirah. Pizza owner Daniel Gorman said the men broke windows, ran into the store and rampaged through the office, trying to steal the safes that held the cash, looking for any money they could find.
Luckily, the safe was staked to the ground and the thieves didn’t get away with any money, but that didn’t stop them from going wild. The thieves quickly moved on to neighboring restaurants, where they smashed the windows of New Lake Asian House and La Fiesta Mexican Grill.
Fortunately, the thieves stole cash from both the shops. They then targeted four other restaurants in another mall. According to officials with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, a total of seven stores were robbed at around 4 a.m. that day.
Gorman, the owner of the pizzeria, reported that the thieves came and went frequently, staying at each location for a maximum of two minutes. They stayed in the mall for about ten minutes, broke the glass door of a restaurant to break into it, and quickly ran outside to break into another store. Gorman believes that the two suspects are not novices. They are very experienced and have the right tools to commit the offence. They are fully clothed from head to toe, and their faces cannot be captured by surveillance cameras. They are clearly ready to come.
Shopping center business owners are speaking out about these mass thefts in hopes of stopping them before anyone else is injured. The owner, Cruz, said he was thankful no one was in the restaurant when the vandalism occurred, otherwise it would be hard to imagine what a tragedy might have happened.
