The fallen lamppost was located in a flower bed near the Disneyland flagpole and is primarily used for stage lighting in holiday parades and Main Street, the Orange County Register reports. Anaheim Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene around 8:30 a.m. for rescue purposes. Three people were injured at the scene, including an elderly woman who suffered head injuries and serious injuries and was sent to hospital for treatment.
According to WDW News Today, the accident occurred when high winds were blowing from the southCaliforniaDuring this time, the National Weather Service has issued a warning of strong wind, which will continue till the 21st. The light poles were removed immediately after the incident and Disneyland closed the area to vehicles.
