Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA) issued a warning on the 14th because the nor’easter hadStaten Islandbrought the windVerrazano Bridge(Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge) will prohibit all trailer vehicles, minibuses, step vans, motorcycles and home trailers from using the upper level of the bridge.
The MTA also stated that any vehicle deemed to be a potential safety hazard due to cargo or other factors is also prohibited from entering the upper levels of the Verrazano Bridge.
According to the weather forecast, from the afternoon to evening of the 14th, wind speeds of up to 50 mph could occur in South Brooklyn and Staten Island, and similar weather conditions are expected on the 15th.
Tuesday night’s minimum temperature will be around 33 degrees, but strong winds will bring the felt temperature down into the low teens. Air temperatures on Wednesday will be in the 20s to 30s.
