The acquisition has been given conditional approval by Chinese regulatory agencies.
Broadcom said the transaction has received all necessary regulatory approvals and plans to complete the acquisition on November 22.
VMWare is a global cloud infrastructure and mobile commerce solutions provider, and Broadcom is the world’s leading semiconductor company for wired and wireless communications.
Broadcom announced its intention to acquire VMWare in May 2022. The purchase price at the time was US$142.50 per share, totaling approximately US$61 billion. In addition, Broadcom will assume VMware’s US$8 billion of net debt.
