The lost dog’s name is Buddy and he has been with his owner Lim for 11 years. Since it was eight weeks old, it was unable to be separated from its owner every day. Lim said that she and her husband do not have any children and that Buddy is her child and spiritual support.

After his dog Buddy went missing on August 15, Lim could not sleep at night and began searching for Buddy’s whereabouts. After questioning nearby residents and reviewing nearby surveillance video, Lim learned that Buddy had been picked up by an Asian mother and son in front of the McDonald’s that day.

After learning this clue, Lim and her husband began distributing “dog hunting tips” at crowded intersections such as Rowland Heights and Diamond Bar. Their cars were covered with video screenshots and information related to when Buddy was picked up; And also over time, they also spent money to hire private detectives and advertise on social media. The reward was also increased from the initial 1,500 yuan to 5,000 yuan in hopes of finding Buddy’s whereabouts.

Lim said that after posting dog hunting information and advertisements, he received calls with leads almost every day, but there was no progress. As time went on, she became more concerned about Buddy’s safety.

By September 10, an insider called and saw a car that was 90% identical to the black Mercedes SUV at the dog hunting revelation. After hearing this, Lim immediately rushed to the car’s location and followed the car to the owner’s residence. Lim said: “We didn’t go to him immediately, but called the police. But since the police couldn’t come immediately to deal with it, in desperation, we took the flyer and knocked on the door directly…”

Lim said that after opening the door, the other party’s first reaction was “How did you find this place?”, and then he denied that his dog was the Buddy Lim was looking for. In desperation, Lim went down on his knees at the scene and begged the other party to return Buddy.

After several hours of “extremely unsatisfactory” communication and negotiation, the other party finally agreed to return Buddy to Lim. “We worked hard from 3 pm to 11:30 am before we took Buddy home.”

“No matter what happens, the most important thing is to be reunited with Buddy.” Lim said she was very grateful to the two youths who provided clues and would offer a reward of 5,000 yuan. If we include advertising fees, printing fees, hiring private investigators and other expenses, he spent a total of about 10,000 yuan to find Buddy.
